Copying, Pasting And Deleting Objects

Reading time

In Fenix+ 3, you can copy, cut, paste, and delete objects on the stage. Notable limitations are:

  • Objects can only be copied within the current (open) project. Objects cannot be copied from one project to another.
  • Within a single project, there cannot be multiple objects of the same type with the same name. All copies of a single object are automatically assigned a name that is different from the name of the object. (i.e. Wall 1, Wall 2, Wall 3 …)

Copy

To copy one or more objects:

  1. Select — either in the topology editor with the Selector tool; in the scenario browser list; or as an object type in the properties window.
  2. Copy, by using the control panel button ; the Ctrl + C hotkey, or the Edit | Copy menu option.

Selected objects will be saved to the clipboard.

Cut

To cut one or more objects:

  1. Select — either in the topology editor with the Selector tool; in the scenario browser list; or as an object type in the properties window.
  2. Cut, by using the control panel button ; the Ctrl + X hotkey, or the Edit | Cut menu option.

Selected objects will be removed from the scene and saved to clipboard.

Copies of objects are placed in the topology editor according to the specified Object Paste Settings, such as offset or the centered placement, or height adjustment.

Copied or cut objects will be placed in the scene.
